The Museum of Anthropology (MOA) at UBC is a world-class institution that draws up to 250,000 visitors from across the world, each year.

This project includes two visitor studies: one to gather data on visitor demographics and psychographics and the other to evaluate a new guided tour.

One method of data collection is being used, in each study:

  • Survey

Both visitor study plans were developed in March 2025 and data collection began in late spring / early summer 2025.

Vancouver Asian Canadian Theatre (vAct) is the only theatre company in Canada that exclusively creates new Asian Canadian work.

They support Asian Canadian theatre artists at all stages of their career and advance the public’s appreciation of the arts, and understanding of Asian culture, through contemporary theatrical productions.

This study was conducted to begin the process of better understanding who attends their productions, starting with the vAct Creation Lab. All data was collected via survey, in person, immediately before or after the presentations.

The goal is to run this study at all vAct productions and events so the company can continue to grow and connect to their audiences.

Suggestions for funding opportunities to continue this work are appreciated.
